Richard Scott is a Senior Forensic Architect with over 35 years of experience in architecture. He specializes in conducting investigations related to indoor air quality (IAQ), mold, moisture, and building forensics. He has investigated over 300 hotels, resorts, commercial office buildings, government facilities, hospitals, schools, and multi-family residential buildings. He is an expert in building enclosures and consults in architectural project management, design, peer reviews, litigation support, and jury trial testimony.
Richard has written numerous technical articles and papers on moisture control, building envelopes, mold, and IAQ, including the NCARB mini-monograph The Hidden Risks of Green Buildings. He has presented seminars and talks on forensics and IAQ for various organizations and entities, including NCARB, AIA, ASHRAE, American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA), National Society for Professional Engineers (NSPE), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), USEPA, State of Louisiana, and Gulf Coast Green.
Richard has helped solve some of the world's most complicated building mold and moisture failures, including projects such as the $750 million Orlando VA Medical Complex, DOD and NAVFAC facilities, Hilton, Wyndham, and Starwood resorts, and governmental projects like the Polk County and Martin County Courthouse.
